Orton-Gillingham tutoring for students with dyslexia, ADHD, and learning differences in the Richmond and Henrico area.
Every child deserves to be seen, understood, and given the tools to succeed. I've watched my own family fight for that right, and I've made it my life's work to ensure other families don't have to fight alone.
— Conni St. John Shrock
Conni St. John Shrock brings over four decades of experience supporting students and families navigating learning differences. Her journey began not in a classroom, but through her own family's legal battles with the public school system—advocacy that forever changed her professional path.
After years as a licensed Master's-level Social Worker (MSW), Conni made the pivotal decision to study under the renowned Bernum Boehling, becoming one of Richmond's most respected Orton-Gillingham tutors. She has completed The New Community School's rigorous Keystone Course, earning 21 hours of continuing education credits in structured literacy methods.
Today, Conni works with students from The New Community School, public schools, Montessori programs, and independent schools across the Richmond area. She meets students where they are—whether in their school setting or in her private practice—bringing energy, expertise, and an unwavering belief in every learner's potential.
As a mother and grandmother who has personally witnessed the transformative power of the right educational support, Conni understands what families face. She's not just a tutor—she's an advocate, a guide, and a partner in your child's success.
